Here are some of our favorite annual Tucson and surrounding area events coming up in 2015. Rincon Country operates a shuttle bus to many of these events. January 14-18, 2015

Wings Over Willcox Birding & Nature Festival – Willcox, AZ

About 500 species of birds make their temporary or permanent home in Willcox, Arizona, located about 80 miles from Tucson. The festival is most popular for the sandhill cranes that roost in the area during the winter. The festival provides opportunities to explore nature in Southeastern Arizona through tours on photography, geology, history, botany, agriculture, birds, and other wildlife in the area.

January 23-24, 2015

Dillinger Days – Tucson, AZ

The Tucson capture of “Public Enemy No. 1,” John Dillinger and his notorious gang is celebrated in downtown Tucson with reenactments, historical displays, vintage cars, and tours of where the gang spent their time in Tucson.

January 31 – February 15, 2015

Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show – Tucson, AZ

The biggest show of its kind in the country, this two-week marketplace draws everyone from expert mineralogists to casual collectors seeking gems, minerals, fossils, meteorites, beads, art, jewelry and more as well as museum-quality exhibits from around the globe. It includes dozens of shows at about 40 different locations, including the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show®, the show that started it all in 1954. Most shows are free and open to the public.

FEBRUARY

February 4 – 8, 2015

Tubac Festival of the Arts – Tubac, AZ

Artists have long found inspiration in the town of Tubac, south of Tucson. It was formerly an Akimel O’odham Indian settlement and later a Spanish Colonial fort. The festival draws some 170 visiting artists who set up booths alongside permanent galleries and studios. The festival includes music, food, and horse-drawn trolley rides.

February 14 – 16, 2015

Vigilante Days – Tombstone, AZ

This yearly event, now held in February, commemorates an integral part of Tombstone’s unique heritage. Activities include gunfight reenactments, street entertainment, gunfight competitions, “hangings,” and more.
